Piața Amzei, Piața Lahovari, Strada Brezoianu and the Ateneului area will be partially pedestrianized, part of the urban regeneration plan for the Center of Bucharest.
At this moment, city planners are analyzing whether road traffic will be totally or partially prohibited in these areas.
“More pedestrianization may be possible without completely eliminating traffic. but now it's basically a parking lot, parking on the green space, it's a shame. I'm preparing a wider pedestrianization project, without completely eliminating cars. This is very important. People need to at least get there with an Uber or let someone get in a car,” said mayor Ciprian Ciucu.
