David Popovici (20 years old) won the gold medal at the Singapore World Swimming Championships, at the 100 -meter free sample. The Romanian athlete recorded a time of 46:51. It is the second gold conquered by the Romanian at this edition of the competition.

The Olympic champion on Wednesday obtained a time of 46:84 in the second semi-final of the Singapore World Cup, being second after American Jack Alexy, who obtained 46:81.

With the times set in yesterday's semifinal, Popovici and Alexy entered the top 5 the best times set worldwide, where David's name appeared three times.

The holder of the world record, Pan Zhanle, failed to take the last act neither at 200 nor at 100 meters free.

David Popovici obtained the gold medal on Tuesday at the 200-meter free sample, and now he will fight in the final at the regina of the birth.
