How are the meetings between the editors-in-chief of major media outlets and Putin going? How did the president react to the question of blocking YouTube at one of these meetings? How does the media market work now: abroad and inside Russia? Is journalism even worth doing in 2024?
Media manager Vladimir Todorov answered all these questions. In the new episode of the podcast “Without leaving the room.”
At just 23 years old, Vladimir became editor-in-chief of Lenta. The old staff considered him “an impudent, stupid youngster,” but the number of unique users grew exponentially. We talked about journalism in Russia from 2012 to the present, made a rating of opposition media, thought about life after YouTube, the information war, good documentaries, and gave advice to those who want to try themselves in the media.
