Sector 4 will apply, from April 1, two measures with budgetary impact to support the population, in the context of price increases and the difficult economic situation, the mayor's office reports in a statement.
“Thus, the Local Council of Sector 4 decided, during an extraordinary meeting that took place today, March 25, to revoke the special urban development tax.
This had been introduced in January 2025, provisionally, and aimed at creating the financial framework necessary to increase the number of parking, public and residential spaces”, it is shown in the document.
Also, the proposal of the mayor Daniel Băluță to grant the population an aid in the total amount of 600 lei for the purchase of fuel, aid payable in three installments of 200 lei every two months for the next 6 months, was also approved.
“Romania is going through one of the most difficult periods in recent years, and solidarity is not just an option, but a responsibility. In this context, the decisions adopted today in the Local Council of Sector 4 are not accidental, but firm and necessary measures to support people in the face of accelerated price increases that affect the standard of living.
The first measure aims to revoke the urban development tax. The second measure introduces a concrete support for the purchase of fuel, directed in particular to active people, i.e. to those who work and whom we must help to keep their jobs.
It's a clear signal that our community needs to send, namely that we don't wait, we act. I am convinced that if we stay united, we have every chance to overcome this difficult moment as well, as we have demonstrated every time”said Daniel Băluță, the mayor of Sector 4.
The government is to adopt, in the regular meeting on Thursday, March 26, the Emergency Ordinance regarding the fuel crisis, according to an announcement made after the discussions within the Tripartite National Council for Social Dialogue.
The project, published on Monday evening by the Ministry of Energy, aims to establish special measures to protect the population and the economy in the context of the accelerated increase in fuel prices.
The main provisions include, among others:
– the official declaration of a crisis situation on the market of crude oil and petroleum products;
– restricting the export of petrol and diesel, which will only be possible with the consent of the competent authorities;
– limiting the commercial markup practiced by operators to a maximum of 50% of the average of the last 12 months, in order to prevent speculation and unjustified price increases;
– the introduction of some control mechanisms to avoid the sale of fuel above the established maximum prices;
