New details about the surgeon Ștefania Szabo found dead at the hospital in Buzău. Manager: “You are overloaded, some can resist, some can ask for help, but there are also some who can give in”

The manager of the Buzau County Emergency Hospital, Sorin Pătraşcu, said on Tuesday that the medical director of the health unit, Ștefania Szabo, was a dedicated doctor and a day ago she had a normal attitude and ruled out the possibility of a “thoughtless gesture”.
“Today, at 6 o'clock in the morning, I was called by one of the doctors of the hospital, who informed me that, in the guard room, our colleague, Ştefania Szabo, was found dead. We do not know the causes or the reasons why this situation came to this. Yesterday, things and her attitude were normal”, said the manager of SJU Buzău, Sorin Pătraşcu, quoted by News.ro.
The police and the Territorial Labor Inspectorate are already in the hospital and are conducting investigations to establish the circumstances under which the surgeon died.

The hospital manager reported that Szabo was a doctor who valued his job.
“The doctor was on duty last night, then she went on duty and was going to leave in the morning, at 8 o'clock. She was a dedicated doctor, with at least seven shifts a month, in addition to the work on the ward and the medical work in the hospital. Every day was very busy,” the manager said.
The last consultation carried out by the doctor would have taken place around 12-12:30 at night, after which he retired to the guard room.
“What happened later, we don't know and we don't have any data at this moment. I don't think it can be a thoughtless gesture. Doctors live a hard reality, with fatigue and a constant effort to take care of patients,” Pătraşcu added.
Monday was a normal day
The manager noted that the day before the tragedy, Dr. Szabo had attended a public event with colleagues and showed no signs of such a tragedy: “He was in the car with me, he was with other colleagues. It was a normal day at work. There was no sign.”
The employees of the Buzău County Emergency Hospital held a moment of silence for Dr. Stefania Szabo in front of the health unit, according to Buzoian Reporter.
The manager addressed the medical staff saying that they are under pressure from society.
“And you doctors, in particular, can't at a certain moment even breathe. I look at the doctors in the UPU in particular, who have reached 300 presentations per shift, who are not from the emergency department. I look at radiologists who do CTs over CTs, neurologists and all specialties. You are overloaded, some can resist, some can ask for help, but there are also some who can give in It seems that our colleague, from a physical point of view, could no longer carry these things. I regret this loss and I wish in the coming period that we will really be a team as we have always been, because I trust you, all of you”, said Pătrașcu.
Criminal case for manslaughter
The medical director of the Buzau County Emergency Hospital, surgeon Ştefania Szabo, aged 37, was found breathless on Tuesday morning, in the ward room of the health unit.
Prosecutors from the Prosecutor's Office of the Buzău Court opened a criminal case for manslaughter, according to Antena 3 CNN.
Samples are taken and the people with whom the doctor spoke in the last hours of life are interviewed.
