Trump supported Orban, who is trying to win the election on anti-Ukrainian rhetoric

The current head of the Hungarian government is “a truly strong and influential leader with a proven track record of achieving phenomenal results,” including in relations with Washington, Trump wrote in Truth Social.

“Hungary: come out and vote for Viktor Orban. He is a true friend, a fighter and a winner, and he has my full and unconditional support for re-election as Prime Minister of Hungary,” the head of the White House urged, noting that he remains with the prime minister “all the way.”

Earlier, a similar statement was made by the head of the Israeli government, Benjamin Netanyahu. In an address to the Conference of Conservative Political Forces in Budapest, he said that Orban “is stability, safety and security.” Netanyahu also thanked the Hungarian government for allegedly “defending Western civilization from the wave of radical, fanatical Muslims.”

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski announced on March 21 that Polish President Karol Nawrocki intends to publicly support Orban in the parliamentary elections.
