“Very strange, a man blew up his own house.” What local residents say about the terrorist attack in Bucha


“There was an old woman here, 82 years old. She was also worried that how could this happen – that the person who lived in the same house with them could do this,” says one woman.

“It’s very strange – a man blew up his own house. His mother seemed to be in the military, and his brother was said to have died, also a military man,” shared another city resident.

The woman said that after the explosions she opened the gates of her house and let people into the yard. “Some are wearing what, some are wearing slippers…” she said, recalling that she brought out people’s shoes and blankets.

On the morning of March 23, explosions occurred in Bucha, Kyiv region, as a result of which law enforcement officers were injured. The police announced a terrorist attack. A few hours later, the alleged perpetrator of the crime was detained. According to the investigation, he was recruited by the Russian intelligence services through a computer game.
