There are no reports confirming that Iran plans to attack Europe with ballistic missiles, or that it even has the capacity to do so, Steve Reed, the UK housing minister, said in an interview with the BBC on Sunday.

On Saturday, the Israel Defense Forces posted on social media that Iran had missiles “that could reach London, Paris or Berlin.”
– There is no assessment to confirm these words – British Minister Reed told the BBC. “I also don't know of any report that Iran is trying to attack Europe at all, let alone that it could do so if it tried,” he added.
In another interview with Sky News, Reed said US President Donald Trump was only speaking for himself when he threatened to “destroy” Iran's power plants if Tehran did not reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours.
Asked to present the UK's position on this deadline, set by Trump on the night from Saturday to Sunday, Reed said: – The US president is fully capable of speaking independently and defending his words.
– We will not allow ourselves to be drawn into war, but we will protect our interests in the region. We will work with our allies to calm the situation, said a member of the British government.
Iran is blocking ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, which is crucial for the transport of crude oil, in response to the US and Israeli attacks on this country, which began on February 28. Iranian forces have repeatedly targeted tankers, although they have allowed some ships to pass, including linked to China and India, or tankers from Iran. Media reports, including: CNN, also talked about placing mines in the strait. (PAP)
