Saudi Arabia's foreign ministry said Saturday it had declared the military attache and three other Iranian diplomats persona non grata and ordered them to leave the kingdom within 24 hours.
In a published statement, the ministry expressed strong condemnation of Iran's “overt and repeated attacks on Saudi Arabia, the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and a number of Arab and Islamic countries.”

The ministry said Iran's continued attacks on Saudi Arabia's sovereignty, civilian infrastructure, economic interests and diplomatic facilities constitute a clear violation of international law and good neighborly principles. The ministry stressed that these actions are contrary to the principles that Iran allegedly defends, and emphasized that further aggression will have serious consequences for current and future relations.
The statement confirmed that the Kingdom will take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty, security, territory, airspace, citizens, residents and national interests.
On Saturday morning, Saudi media reported that since the beginning of the war in the Middle East, which began on the last day of February, Iran has attacked the Kingdom with 575 drones and 49 missiles.
Earlier, Qatar also declared Iran's military attache undesirable. This occurred after Iranian forces attacked the Ras Laffan industrial zone, where the world's largest natural gas liquefaction plant is located.
