In Krasnoyarsk, a car wash employee will be tried for stealing money from a client’s found credit card.

In October 2025, a 37-year-old woman contacted the police department in Krasnoyarsk. She said that she found notifications about debiting funds in the bank’s mobile application. At the same time, she could not find the credit card itself – she only remembered that she had seen it a few days ago in her car before going to the car wash.

Police officers identified the alleged kidnapper. He turned out to be a previously unconvicted 41-year-old Krasnoyarsk resident who worked at a car wash. It turned out that at the end of the working day the man was doing equipment maintenance and cleaning the vacuum cleaner. Inside he found a bank card, which the client had probably accidentally dropped. Instead of reporting the find to management or trying to return the card to its owner, the washer took it for himself.

Over the course of several days, he used someone else’s credit card to pay at various stores in the city, making contactless purchases. In total I managed to spend 58 thousand rubles.

Currently, the materials of the criminal case with the indictment have been sent to the Sovetsky District Court of Krasnoyarsk for a decision. The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of six years in prison. The man was given a written undertaking not to leave the place and to behave properly.
