The Investigative Committee of the Krasnoyarsk Territory opened a criminal case against a 17-year-old local resident, suspected in preparation for committing sabotage (part 1 of article 30, part 1 of article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
According to the investigation, in February 2026, the teenager, having entered into correspondence with a user of one of the instant messengers, agreed for a monetary reward commit arson transformer in Minusinsk.
“In order to implement the plan, the suspect invited four acquaintances to find means of committing a crime and take part in the arson, which was refused. The defendant was unable to complete his intent to commit sabotage due to the suppression of his actions by FSB officers,” the Investigative Committee said.
The court chose a preventive measure against the guy in the form of detention. Currently, investigative actions aimed at collecting and consolidating the evidence base are ongoing.
The RF IC urges teenagers not to succumb to provocations and offers coming from strangers on the Internet and instant messengers: “Remember that the sanction for committing sabotage provides for severe punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 20 years.”
