Petrol lost with a score of 0-1, on Saturday afternoon, in the second stage of the play-out, against those from Metaloglobus, and the crisis in the group on “Ilie Oană” continues. Immediately after the match, Eugen Neagoe (58 years old) did not come to the flash-interview, his place being taken by the “second” Bebe Bărbulescu, the one who had no mercy on the players.
Petrol remains at the level of 16 points in the standings, instead of a playoff spot, and the situation is getting more and more complicated for Prahoven, who started the play-out with two consecutive failures. After the match, technician Neagoe did not come to the interview, considering the tragedy in his family, the coach's mother dying on the very morning of Saturday.
His place in the interview was taken by the assistant coach, the one who criticized the players and who announced that measures would be taken, including changes at the level of the “first 11”.
Bebe Bărbulescu, Petrolul second coach: “We are rethinking the whole strategy”
“A game that we had at our discretion, we didn't manage to materialize our attacking actions. We made a mistake in that phase with the penalty, Boțogan touched the ball with his hand and the penalty was awarded correctly, obviously. After that we lost our concentration and came under some kind of pressure.
There are certain players who are not used to playing under this pressure and we will see what we do. We have this welcome break, let's rethink the whole strategy, including the first 11, see what solutions we will find. Petrol is a team that must stay in the first league.
At Botoșani, we had 5 new players in the first 11, who proved that they can play for Petrolul. During this period, we will analyze carefully and take the necessary steps to fix the game and win the next games.
We had problems from the beginning (no in attack), we looked for solutions, even with the fake Gică Grozav 9. We had Adi Chică-Roşa who for 17 matches did not find solutions to score, although he fought a lot and did not have bad games.
I'm not afraid (no relegation), I know we have a very good team. Today was a moment when we were not lucid. If they understand that they have to treat each match very carefully, I am convinced that we will get results”, said Bebe Bărbulescu, quoted by digisport.ro.
