A Romanian woman and an Iranian national have been charged in the UK after trying to enter a base that houses nuclear submarines

Two foreign nationals, including a Romanian woman, have been charged after trying to break into the Faslane nuclear naval base in Scotland, the Daily Mail reports.

A 34-year-old Iranian man and a 31-year-old Romanian woman were stopped as they approached an access point in a vehicle at HM Naval Base Clyde, the Royal Navy's headquarters in Scotland, where the UK's nuclear submarine fleet is based. The two were denied access after they could not present the necessary authorizations.
Security personnel became suspicious after they allegedly continued to behave unusually near the area. They were later apprehended and arrested by Police Scotland.
The suspects have been charged and are due to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Monday, March 23.
HM Naval Base Clyde, known as Faslane, is one of the UK's most sensitive military installations. Located approximately 40 km north-west of Glasgow, it is home to the Trident-missile-equipped Vanguard submarines as well as the nuclear-powered Astute-class attack submarines.
The base is heavily secured by Ministry of Defense Police and Royal Marines units specializing in the protection of nuclear facilities.
