President Karol Nawrocki, at the request of the Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, agreed to the appointment of 78 soldiers and SKW officers to the first officer rank (second lieutenant), the National Security Bureau reported on Friday.

As stated by the National Security Bureau, the president “will issue an appropriate decision after the countersignature of the Prime Minister.”
On Wednesday, the Minister Coordinator of Special Services, Tomasz Siemoniak, pointed out on social media that half a year has passed since the President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, did not sign the nomination for the first officer rank in the Internal Security Agency and the SKW. He recalled on the X platform that “applications were submitted twice.”
Presidential spokesman Rafał Leśkiewicz, asked on Friday by PAP about the issue of officer nominations in the Internal Security Agency, emphasized that “the remaining (nominations) are in the analysis process.” – We will keep you informed (about them) – he noted.
President Karol Nawrocki has not signed since the beginning of November last year. officer nominations of officers of the Internal Security Agency and the Military Counterintelligence Service, which he justified by the failure to provide him with important information regarding state security and the cancellation of his meetings with the heads of services by the government leadership. Prime Minister Donald Tusk, informing in November about the president's failure to sign the promotion applications, calculated that Karol Nawrocki blocked the nominations of 136 future SKW and ABW officers.
In mid-January, the president met with the deputy prime minister, head of the Ministry of National Defense, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, as well as with the minister coordinator of special services, Tomasz Siemoniak, and the heads of the Internal Security Agency, the Intelligence Agency, the Military Counterintelligence Service and the Military Intelligence Service. The head of the Ministry of National Defense then announced that applications for officer nominations in the services would again be submitted to the Chancellery of the President. He added that the president would “mostly” agree to the requests. (PAP)
