The win was obtained at Bar Renato, a lottery point located in a shopping center in the town of Carsoli, near the highway. The woman had only entered the restaurant for a coffee, not suspecting what was to come, according to Il Messaggero.
The owner of the bar, Renato, said that the Romanian woman spontaneously bought a 5 euro scratch-off ticket.
“She ordered a coffee, then spontaneously bought a €5 “Color” scratch-off ticket, never imagining that her life would soon change.” he said. After discovering the amount won, the woman immediately asked for the ticket to be checked at the local bookmaker.
“I bought the ticket just to play. When I saw the amount, I couldn't believe it,” declared the winner.
As a precaution, the woman has not yet celebrated the grand prize, pending official confirmation, which should come in about 40 days. According to the owner, she and her husband are well integrated into the local community and frequent the bar.
Renato also stated that, over time, there have been smaller wins in the club – 5,000 euros in SuperEnalotto or 10,000 euros in other games – but this is the first prize of such a value. Meanwhile, word has spread quickly, and more and more customers are coming to try their luck.
The winning ticket is part of the “Color Puzzle” series, and the lucky combination consisted of the numbers 13, 47, 29 and 50.
