Doctors of the Krasnoyarsk BSMP saved a 59-year-old woman with a giant ovarian cystadenoma.

It is reported that the patient was first discovered in the patient four years ago. The cystic tumor gradually increased to impressive sizes – more than 60 centimeters. As a result, the woman even lost the opportunity to move independently – she could not get up and was forced to be exclusively in the position of lying on her side.

In a number of medical organizations, she was refused surgery due to an extremely high degree of risk of complications-a high probability of cardiovascular and respiratory problems. And the doctors of the BSMP, despite the complexity of the situation that It consisted not only in a huge tumor, but also in the concomitant diseases of the patient, made a collegial decision to help her.

“To begin with, under ultrasound control, a tumor was punctured with the installation of a special drainage to remove fluid. This procedure lasted a week for which 107 liters of liquid managed to withdraw. All this time, the woman was in the intensive care unit under the supervision of resuscitation anesthesiologists. Only after the detailed preparation and stabilization of the patient's condition, the surgeon team began directly to the operation to complete the complete removal of the giant neoplasm. Thanks to the use of modern equipment and the command approach of specialists of various profiles of surgical, anesthesiologists-resuscitators, the operation ended successfully, ”said Oleg Ermoshkin, head of the gynecological department of the BSMP, noting that in practice such cases are extremely rare.

The woman has already been discharged from the hospital, she continues to treat the house.
