The U.S. Department of State on Thursday announced approval of potential arms sales to the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Jordan. The decision was made against the background of the escalation of the war in the Middle East.

The ministry approved the potential sale of F-16 missiles, drones, radar systems, weapons and modernization kits to the UAE for a total amount exceeding $8.4 billion.
In the case of Kuwait, the sale of modern LTAMDS radars for approximately USD 8 billion has been approved. And the total amount of air supplies, weapons and related equipment for Jordan reaches USD 70.5 million.
The main contractors for the orders are the American concerns RTX Corporation, Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin Corporation.
As noted by Reuters, the decision to sell was made after Iranian attacks on energy infrastructure, which were a response to Israeli strikes on Iran's gas installations. This is the largest escalation of the war that has been ongoing since February 28. The attacks caused a spike in gas prices and further increases in oil prices.
