The Kirov District Court of the regional capital declared invalid the marriage concluded in 2016 between a man from Tajikistan and a woman from Krasnoyarsk. The reason for the investigation was circumstances that came to light almost ten years later.
As the court found, in 2016 the man got married and on this basis received Russian citizenship. In 2021, the couple divorced by mutual consent. However, in December 2025, when the man applied to the migration service to obtain citizenship for his five minor children, it turned out that since 2012 he had been legally married to a citizen of Tajikistan.
The presence of a valid marriage is the basis for declaring a second marriage invalid. Moreover, this circumstance may change the decision of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the acquisition of Russian citizenship.
