30 million pine, spruce and cedar trees will be grown in nurseries and mini-greenhouses in the Krasnoyarsk Territory

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, 30 million coniferous seedlings with open and closed root systems will be grown to restore forests. This was reported by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry of the region.

Most of the seedlings are planned to be obtained on the territory of the Ermakovsky, Yenisei and Bolshemurtinsky forestries. Forestry departments and tenants of forest plots will begin reforestation once stable positive temperatures have been established and the snow cover has completely disappeared.

Currently, preparations are underway for the silviculture season: inspections of machinery and equipment are being carried out, tenants are entering into agreements for the purchase of planting material.

“We grow planting material in 32 nurseries and 11 mini-greenhouses, which fully covers the region’s need for seedlings for forestries and tenants. The volume of reforestation is determined annually based on the actual areas of deforestation and dead forests. Thus, in 2026, we plan to plant more than 15 million seedlings of coniferous species – pine, spruce and cedar, which will fully compensate for the lost forest areas. Forestry departments also supply seedlings for reforestation to other regions of the country,” noted First Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry of the region Alexey Bolshakov.

Let us remind you that forests in the Krasnoyarsk Territory are being restored as part of the national project “Ecological Well-Being”. The first plantings in the southern territories are planned to begin in late April – early May.
