Alexander Lukashenko presented “proposals for peace”. He hit Poland

The Belarusian leader addressed the representatives of 48 countries who came to the conference in Minsk on Monday. Apart from Sergei Lavrov from Russia and Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, the audience was dominated by representatives of Asian and African countries, the so-called Global South.

Alexander Lukashenko focused on the topic of world peace, emphasizing that it is not “empty rhetoric.” He presented four “proposals for peace” that he believes are useful in combating conflicts.

The dictator mentioned in this context the ban on sanctions on food and medicines; protection of international critical infrastructure, including pipelines, undersea telecommunications cables and nuclear power plants; ending the migration crisis by introducing a common migrant control system; as well as limiting the development of artificial intelligence, which “is turning from a useful tool into a weapon of mass destruction,” Belsat describes.

Alexander Lukashenko also had a number of accusations against Europe, NATO and the USA. He called the imposition of sanctions resulting in Russia losing its foreign assets “a crime”. He also considered Donald Trump's attempts to conduct peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine as a “spectacle”. He also condemned the strengthening of defense potential by European countries – in his opinion, this does not lead to security, but to the escalation of conflicts.

The Belarusian dictator has not forgotten about Poland, whose actions he often criticizes in his speeches. This time, he accused the government in Warsaw of waging a hybrid and trade war, referring to the closure of the Polish-Belarusian borders. “The so-called civilized world has come to an end. That's certain. The actions of not only our neighbors, but also Europe and other powers (don't be fooled by the United States either) are as strong an element of hybrid war as the recent closing of the borders by Warsaw,” said the dictator, quoted by Belsat.

Two border crossings between Poland and Belarus may be opened soon. Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced during Tuesday's meeting in Białystok that the opening of the crossings in Kuźnica and Bobrowniki may take place “on a trial basis” in November this year.
