“Drink or not drink?”: The doctor called the not obvious properties of a popular drink

Coffee is not just an invigorating drink, but also a useful element of the diet. This was reported by the orthopedic doctor and the manual therapist Ruslan Masgutov in his official TG channel (18+).

According to the expert, coffee has a positive effect on the work of the gallbladder, and helps the prevention of stagnation and thickening of bile. Caffeine contributes to the outflow of fluid and prevents cholesterol crystallization.

The recommended safe dose of caffeine is from 100 to 150 mg per day. This corresponds to approximately 100-150 ml of Americano, 150-200 ml of cappuccino or 30-50 ml of espresso. At the same time, do not add milk or other ingredients to coffee. To obtain maximum benefit, it should be prepared on the water.

Excessive coffee consumption can lead to nervousness due to excessive stimulation of the adrenal glands. In the long run, this can affect the hormonal background.

Coffee should only be drunk after eating, preferably 20-30 minutes after breakfast. The use of a drink on an empty stomach can provoke undesirable reactions from the gastrointestinal tract in the form of heartburn, exacerbation of gastritis, reflux and irritation of the mucosa.

The specialist also recommends drinking coffee in the first half of the day to avoid sleep disturbances associated with the effect of caffeine on circus rhythms and metabolism.

This information is not a replacement for a doctor’s consultation. The body's reaction to changes in nutrition can depend on individual physiological characteristics, genetic predisposition and health status. Before starting changes in the diet, it is recommended to consult a dietitian or attending physician to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the selected measures.
