The Krasnoyarsk resident won gold at the 2026 Paralympics and became a four-time champion

Alpine skier from Krasnoyarsk Alexey Bugaev won a gold medal at the Paralympic Games in Italy.
The athlete became the best in slalom among participants in the LW6 category (athletes with damage to one upper limb). According to the sum of two attempts, he showed a result of 1 minute 28.55 seconds, ahead of New Zealander Adam Hall and Swiss Robin Kuesch.
Earlier at these games, Bugaev already took two bronze medals – in the downhill and giant slalom.

The current victory became his fourth Paralympic gold in his career: he previously won twice at the competition in Sochi in 2014 and once in Pyeongchang in 2018.
The 2026 Paralympics took place from March 6 to 15. Russian athletes competed under their own flag. In total, the team won 12 medals: eight gold, one silver and three bronze, taking third place in the overall standings. Alexey Bugaev was the last Russian to finish his performance.
