Romania, directly threatened by Iran: “There will be an adequate and quick response from our side”
The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Esmail Baghaei, threatened, on Monday, Romania with “an appropriate political and legal response”, after our country's decision to allow the Americans to use the military bases to resupply the planes used in missions in the Middle East.

“We warn all states not to become part of the crime of aggression against Iran and the Iranian people. These days will pass and Iran will emerge from this ordeal with dignity and with its forehead held high. No country should allow itself to provide, directly or indirectly, its facilities to the United States or the Zionist regime to help the aggressor“, Esmail Baghaei said, according to Iran International.
The spokesperson of the Iranian MFA referred directly to Romania.
“Regarding some Eastern European countries, especially Romania, which you mentioned, yes, I have heard that there are interviews and statements on this subject. Without a doubt, such an action would mean participating in military aggression against Iran. This action is completely unacceptable from the point of view of international law and would attract the international responsibility of the Romanian state if it were put into practice.
Also, from a political point of view, it would represent a black mark in the history of relations between Iran and this country, because the Iranian people and the Romanian people have always been in a friendly relationship. There is no reason or pretext for another country to engage in this military aggression, and from our point of view this is categorically unacceptable.” declared Esmail Baghaei.
He says that “certainly, both legally and politically, there will be an appropriate and swift response from us.”
Iran's message comes after Romania's decision to grant the US the right to use the bases in our country for the refueling of planes and for the placement of additional radars and satellite systems.
