The famous Krasnoyarsk architect Anton Shatalov spoke in his telegram channel about the state of the federal highway R-255 “Siberia”. According to him, the road is more like a narrow path than a highway connecting the regions.

Shatalov said that he recently drove seven hours from Kemerovo and encountered numerous problems.

“I went around the pits where you can stay overnight. I saw corpses on the highway and trucks in ditches. A couple of times I was on the verge of death, trying to overtake a barely crawling heavy truck on ice,” the architect described his experience.

Shatalov is surprised that despite the enormous popularity of the route, the route is not being expanded. In his opinion, the high-speed highway project from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad should become a priority for Russia.

Let us add that the R-255 “Siberia” is popularly called the “highway of death” due to the fatal accidents that regularly occur there. Only on March 15, the traffic police reported two accidents at 688-689 kilometers of the road. In the first, a 45-year-old truck driver died, in the other, a 24-year-old guy driving a Kia Rio and his 20-year-old passenger
