Donald Trump asks for help to secure navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. Which are the invited countries?

US President Donald Trump on Saturday asked several countries to provide military support to help ensure safe commercial navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, reports DPA, taken over by Agerpres.
“One way or another, we will soon open the Strait of Hormuz, SAFE and FREE!” wrote Donald Trump on his Truth Social platform.
The US president said he hoped “China, France, Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom and others” would join the US in sending ships to the strait between Iran and Oman.
Traffic through this narrow channel – vital to global oil exports – almost collapsed during the war with Iran, sending prices soaring.
After consultations among the G7 countries, French President Emmanuel Macron said this week that the group was preparing a naval mission to escort oil tankers and cargo ships through the strait.
While President Macron is promoting this initiative, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has stated that he sees no need for an international military deployment.
On Friday, President Trump told reporters that US warships would “soon” begin escorting oil tankers through the strait.
