One of the most anticipated movies is about to appear on Netflix. “Peaky Blinders” returns with an explosive plot and top-notch actors

The actor Cillian Murphy returns to the harsh world of the series “Peaky Blinders” with a new film whose action takes place during the Second World War, reports Reuters.
The Oscar-winning Irish actor reprises his role as Birmingham gangster Thomas “Tommy” Shelby, the now-older and retired leader of the Peaky Blinders gang, to thwart a Nazi conspiracy in the central English city of Birmingham.
“I've always been open to the idea… We've been developing the script for years… trying to perfect it, to see if we can justify its existence, because it's something different, a two-hour story as opposed to a six-hour one,” Murphy told Reuters, referring to the “Peaky Blinders” series, writes Agerpres.
The series first aired in 2013 and ran for six seasons, each with six episodes. The action of the first season took place in 1919.
Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man – “It's All About Family”
The film, titled “Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man,” introduces new names to the cast, including actors Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth and Barry Keoghan, the latter playing Tommy's illegitimate son Duke Shelby. Their relationship is the emotional core of the story.
“When we put the story together … it became just about family, about father and son,” Murphy said.
“Violence is the background… Look at 'The Sopranos'… the moments in the kitchen. It's all about family,” Keoghan said.
The Netflix movie was written by series creator Steven Knight. “Since the end of the first season, I've always wanted to end this part of the story with a movie, and also to have the movie take place during World War II,” he said, adding, “It was always my intention to end it that way.”
When “Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man” comes on Netflix
Steven Knight, who is also writing the script for the upcoming “James Bond” film, begins “Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man” by recreating the 1940 bombing of the Birmingham Small Arms (BSA) factory, where his mother worked.
“My mother was working at the BSA factory at the time, putting explosives into artillery shells, but she was off duty that night… She survived,” he said.
“I've always wanted 'Peaky' to be based on these kinds of personal stories,” Knight said.
“Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man” will be available on Netflix starting March 20.
