US President Donald Trump said on Friday that Microsoft should dismiss Lisa Monaco, who has worked in the administrations of two democratic presidents and is now the president of the Microsoft's global business department.
The measure seems to be Trump's most recent attempt to take revenge on those who consider political enemies and comes to the day after the former director of the FBI, James Comey, notes Reuters.
Monaco helped to coordinate the response of the justice department to the attacks of January 6, 2021 of Trump's supporters on the US chapter.
She held the position of counselor on security issues in the administration of President Barack Obama and was a deputy general prosecutor in the administration of President Joe Biden. Monaco started working for Microsoft in July to lead the company's relationships with governments around the world, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Trump has written on Social Truth that Monaco is “a threat to the US national security, especially given the important contracts that Microsoft has with the United States government.”
“I think Microsoft should be fired immediately on Lisa Monaco,” he wrote.
Monaco's security authorizations were revoked in February. On Friday, Trump said the US government forbade access to all the federal properties due to “many illicit acts of Monaco”.
Microsoft refused to comment on Trump's post.
On Thursday, Comy, who was leading the FBI when the investigation into the connections between Trump's 2016 campaign and the Russian government began, was charged for false statements and obstructing a parliamentary procedure.
On Friday, Trump said he is expecting more accusations against his enemies, telling reporters: “I think there will be others,” but said he has no list.
