Earthquake in Vrancea, Thursday morning, near Focșani

An earthquake of low intensity occurred on Thursday morning in the Vrancea seismic zone, according to data provided by the National Research and Development Institute for Earth Physics.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 2.6 on the Richter scale was recorded on Thursday morning, at 7:58, in the Vrancea seismic zone, according to information published by the National Research and Development Institute for Earth Physics (INFP).
According to specialists, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 104.1 kilometers. The epicenter of the earthquake was located approximately 37 kilometers west of the municipality of Focșani, 70 kilometers north of Buzău and 88 kilometers south of Bacău.
Other nearby towns are Sfântu Gheorghe, located approximately 72 kilometers east of the epicenter, Brașov, approximately 87 kilometers east, and Bârlad, approximately 89 kilometers southwest.
An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.1 was recently recorded in the Vrancea seismic zone a few days ago, on March 4.
