The danger of a riot in Moscow by those close to Sergei Shoigu. Russian press: The Kremlin blocks the Internet in the center of the Russian capital

The blocking of mobile internet in central Moscow in recent days could be related to a possible threat to the Kremlin from the close circle of former Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. The hypothesis was launched on March 9 by the influential Russian channel “Cheka-OGPU”, which is said to have links to Russian special services.

According to the “Cheka-OGPU” source, the information would come from a person close to the situation. At the same time, rumors were circulating in Moscow that even Serghei Shoigu could be arrested soon.

The channel claims that the restrictions on mobile communications and the Internet in the center of the Russian capital coincided with the intensification of investigations against some people in the close circle of the former Minister of Defense. Among them would be Ruslan Tsalikov, considered a close friend and collaborator of Shoigu.

According to the information that has emerged, the attempt to send Tsalikov into custody at the Lefortovo penitentiary would have generated tensions at the top of power. In the end, he was no longer incarcerated, being placed only under house arrest.

The “Cheka-OGPU” channel and Rucriminal.info also claim that, after Tsalikov, even Sergey Shoigu could become the target of the investigations. The former minister would still retain influence in the circles of power, including the security structures and the Ministry of Defense.

Several key institutions were reportedly affected by the communications problems, including the headquarters of the security services in the Lubyanka Building area, the presidential administration, the Security Council and some units of the army and the federal security service.

According to the same source, restrictions on the Internet and mobile networks could have been imposed only in case of a serious threat.

If the information is confirmed, the Kremlin would fear a possible uprising similar to the one started in 2023 by the leader of the Wagner group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, who then organized a rebellion against the Russian military leadership with the help of his mercenaries.

The “Cheka-OGPU” channel also stated that other consulted sources failed to provide a clear explanation for the almost total blocking of mobile communications and the Internet in the center of Moscow.
