Former Prime Minister and PiS MP Mateusz Morawiecki declared that he would support this party's candidate for Prime Minister, Przemysław Czarnek, in his mission. However, as he emphasized, he is not willing to become deputy prime minister in his government.

On Saturday, at the PiS convention in Krakow, the party president, Jarosław Kaczyński, announced that former head of the Ministry of National Education, Przemysław Czarnek, will be the PiS candidate for prime minister in the government that the party would like to create after the 2027 elections.
Morawiecki was asked in a Monday interview on the Rymanowski Live YouTube channel whether he still remained in PiS after this decision. – Well, absolutely, of course it is; We are fighting this bad government, replied the former prime minister.
When asked if he was happy that Czarnek had become the candidate for prime minister, he replied: “I am certainly a man who will support him in his mission.”
Morawiecki also emphasized that he was not affected by the president's decision.
However, when asked whether he would start his own party if he was forced out of PiS, he replied that “he would not be forced out.”
The former prime minister was also asked whether he would like to become deputy prime minister in Czarnek's government. – Not necessarily, said Morawiecki. When asked if he would say anything more on this topic, he replied: No, nothing more.
In an interview on TV Trwam after the end of the convention, President Kaczyński was asked whether he saw a role for Morawiecki in Czarnek's government if PiS won the upcoming elections. Kaczyński replied that if Morawiecki acts rationally, if PiS wins the elections, Czarnek will be in charge of economic matters in the government. He added that in different circumstances, Morawiecki himself would be considered as PiS's candidate for prime minister. (PAP)
