LAST TIME Trump assures that he will keep the Strait of Hormuz open / Balance of the US campaign against Iran – VIDEO

US President Donald Trump stated in a press conference held in Florida that he intends to keep the Strait of Hormuz open to ensure the flow of oil and gas. He also considered the US Navy escorting the oil tankers, but said it might not be necessary due to the extensive damage inflicted on Iran's armed forces.

Trump began his press conference with an account of the US military's actions against Iran. Thus, around 5,000 targets were reached during the ten days of the campaign.

“Some very important, some we've left for later in case we have to do it,” Trump said, referring to Iran's energy infrastructure, which he said he aims to keep intact to rebuild the country after the removal of the theocratic regime.

“I didn't even know they had so many ships”

Trump estimated that 90% of Iran's missile launchers were destroyed, 75% of drones plus 51 ships. “I didn't even know they had that many, but they didn't last long,” the US president commented.

“Bombs are destroying missile launchers all over Iran and we're destroying the industrial base for manufacturing drones,” Trump said, adding that the results of the US strikes were beyond expectations.

Justifying the intervention in Iran, the US president said that Iran did not want, during the negotiations, to give up its military nuclear program.

“The Iranian regime has been spreading terror for 47 years. Some time ago they told Witkoff that they wanted to build nuclear weapons (…) For civilian purposes, they were offered free fuel, but they didn't take it because they wanted the nuclear weapon,” Trump said, claiming that the Tehran regime had begun construction of a new nuclear weapons site, deeper in the granite.

Trump promises lower oil prices

Regarding the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, Trump gave assurances that this will not happen “Hormuz will remain safe, we have many ships there. We will hit them so hard that they will no longer be able to threaten the world. The result will be lower oil and gas prices,” the US president said.

Ultimately, US warships could sail alongside oil tankers in the area, but Trump said he did not think that would be necessary. “I hope it's not necessary, but we'll do it if we have to,” said Donald Trump, who noted that the US also has minesweepers in the area.

“It's been a trip, we knew prices were going to go up, even more than they did, but no one thought it would be resolved this quickly,” Trump continued.
