Nicușor Dan, discussion with the president of the European Council: “I reached key topics”

President Nicușor Dan announced on Wednesday in an X post, that he spoke on the phone with the head of the European Council, Antonio Costa, and “reaffirmed the commitment of Romania to cooperate with European partners.”
The discussion took place on Wednesday.
“Today, I had a phone conversation with Antonio Costa, the president of the European Council. I thanked the President Costa for greetings and the words of support and I reaffirmed Romania to cooperate with European partners, supporting EU values and objectives,” said Nicușor Dan.
The head of state provided details about the topics addressed.
“We have reached key topics, before the future meeting of the European Council in June, including regional security and defense, our support for Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova and to strengthen the EU competitiveness. I look forward to collaborating with Costa and my colleagues from the European Council to promote the EU Agenda and our common priorities,” Nicuşor.

Also today, Nicușor Dan organized a first press conference at the Cotroceni Palace, approaching both internal policy and external topics.
“On the external side, during June, we will have a June 10 visit to the King of Spain, also June 10 a visit to Chisinau, immediately after participating in a summit in Ukraine, a summit between the countries of South-East Europe and Ukraine, June 25, the NATO summit in The Hague, June 26, the European Council.
