Firefighters said the meteorite first crashed through the roof of the building and then fell into the bedroom, leaving a hole about the size of a football. There were people in the house at the time of the fall, but there was no one in that room, so there were no injuries.
According to representatives of the fire service, a meteorite was observed flying over the region, which broke up into several fragments. Several pieces fell in different areas of the ground, but no other serious damage was known.
Before the fall, residents of several western federal states saw a bright flash in the sky and heard a loud bang. Because of this, the police and emergency services received numerous calls. Some witnesses initially mistook the object for a missile.
