Unusually warm autumn: forecasters predict above-normal temperatures until the end of November

The weather will be warmer than usual in the coming weeks, according to the forecast published on Tuesday by the National Meteorological Administration (ANM). Above-average temperatures will continue until near the end of November, and rainfall will generally be light.

For Tuesday, October 28, ANM announces variable weather, with local rains in the north and center and with intensification of the wind. “In the northwest and center of the territory it will be cloudy for much of the interval, while the rest of the country will have cloudy skies for the first part of the day, then gradually clear“, the weather forecast says.

There will be rain in Maramureș, locally in Crișana and in places in Transylvania, and isolated in Muntenia and Dobrogea. In the mountains, precipitation will be mixed: “At altitudes higher than 1500 m there will be precipitation mainly in the form of sleet and snow“.

The amounts of water can reach 10–15 l/sq m in limited areas, and even more than 20 l/sq m isolated in the northwest.

The wind will blow moderately, with intensifications on the mountain ridges, where “gusts will reach 70-80 km/hIn the rest of the territory, gusts can reach 45–50 km/h, and isolated 55–60 km/h in the south of Oltenia and Transylvania.

The maximum temperatures of the day will be between 7 and 18 degrees, and the minimum between 0 and 8 degrees, “slightly lower in eastern Transylvania”. Isolated fog will be reported.

What will the weather be like in Bucharest?

On Tuesday, October 28, the sky will be cloudy for the first part of the day, then gradually clear. The wind will be light and moderate, with temporary intensification in the afternoon and evening, with gusts up to 45 km/h. The maximum temperature will reach 16–17 degrees, and the minimum will be 3–4 degrees.

Forecast for the week of October 27 – November 3

Thermal values ​​will be slightly higher than those specific to this period, especially in the western, northwestern and northeastern regions of the country. The amount of precipitation will be less in the western regions and locally in the center and east of the territory, and in the rest it will be close to normal.

Week 3 – 10 November

Average temperatures will remain above normal across the country, with the highest values ​​in the west and north-west. Precipitation will be slightly deficient in all regions.

Week 10 – 17 November

Thermal values ​​will continue to be higher than normal for the period in all regions, according to ANM. The amount of precipitation will be close to normal in the northeast and slightly deficient in the rest of the territory.

Week 17 – 24 November

Average temperatures will be slightly above normal for this period, and rainfall will generally be close to normal across the country.
