US Military: We have launched attacks on multiple targets in Iran

“U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces began today at 5:15 p.m. EST (11:15 p.m. in Poland) to conduct additional self-defense strikes against multiple targets in Iran on the order of the commander in chief,” the command wrote in a statement.

It was added that “the strikes are a response to Iran's unjustified and ongoing aggression.”

Iranian state media reported the sounds of explosions in the city of Bandar Sirik, on the island of Kish and in Minab on the Persian Gulf.

Earlier on Wednesday, President Donald Trump announced that American forces would launch a strong strike against Iran, just as they did the night before. On Tuesday, the US struck Iranian radars and air defense systems in response to the downing of an American helicopter.

Iran said that in retaliation it carried out drone attacks on US forces in Bahrain and fired missiles at US military facilities in Jordan. Kuwait also reported intercepting Iranian missiles.
