The same salad from childhood: “Mimosa” melts in your mouth – an ideal table decoration for March 8

On March 8, I want to please my loved ones with something special: beautiful, tender and light like spring. Mimosa salad is ideal for the holiday table: it looks elegant, is easy to prepare and reminds of the first spring flowers.

Ingredients:

Canned pink salmon or sardine – 1 can
Chicken eggs – 4 pcs.
Hard cheese – 100 g
Onion – 1 small head
Butter – 50 g optional
Mayonnaise – 150 g

Preparation:

  • Boil the eggs hard, cool and peel.
  • Open the fish, drain the liquid and mash into small pieces with a fork.
  • Finely chop the onion and pour boiling water over it to remove the bitterness.
  • Grate the cheese on a fine grater, divide the eggs into whites and yolks and grate separately.
  • Lay the salad in layers in a deep dish, coating each layer with mayonnaise: 1st layer: fish, 2nd layer: onions, 3rd layer: whites, 4th layer: cheese, 5th layer: yolks.
  • Garnish the salad with sprigs of dill or parsley, creating the effect of spring flowers.

Chill the salad in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours before serving, this will help the layers become saturated and the flavors will become more harmonious.

Bon appetit!
