If former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki acts rationally, if PiS wins the elections, he will manage economic matters in Przemysław Czarnek's government – admitted President Jarosław Kaczyński. He added that in different circumstances, Morawiecki himself would be considered as PiS's candidate for prime minister.

During Saturday's PiS convention in Krakow, PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński announced that Przemysław Czarnek will be the party's candidate for prime minister in the next parliamentary elections.
In an interview on TV Trwam after the end of the convention, Kaczyński was asked whether he saw a role for Morawiecki in Czarnek's government if PiS won the upcoming elections. – Of course I see him in the role, because he is a really great politician, an extremely talented man. This is a man who, if he acts rationally, will manage economic affairs in this government, he emphasized. He added that Morawiecki would be “an extremely important person in such a government and (he will have – PAP) enormous power because he knows it very well.”
– The reality is what it is and Professor Czarnek is really much better at meeting what is needed – he said in the context of selecting the candidate. Kaczyński admitted that in different circumstances, Morawiecki “would certainly be among the candidates” for prime minister. – I don't know if he would have won this competition, but he would definitely be among them – he added.
The PiS president assessed that if he chose Morawiecki as a candidate, “he would have no greater opportunity to convince those who succumbed to propaganda.” – (Morawiecki) was positioned by the attackers as the main culprit of these, in most cases, alleged mistakes – he noted. In his opinion, in politics sometimes decisions have to be made “not on the basis of sympathy, not even on the basis of justice.”
During his speech during Saturday's convention, Czarnek emphasized that the party was boarding a “well-oiled high-speed train to win for Poland.” He added that he was to be the driver of this train, and Kaczyński was to be the manager. The PiS president was asked whether any of the wagons would detach from this train, referring to the ongoing conflict between the politicians of this party, Kaczyński assessed that all those who participated in the disputes, including those who “excessively criticized what our government was doing, are rational people.”
– I think they realize that as party activists, Polish patriots should ensure that, firstly, this government is legally overthrown through elections, and secondly, that this new government is a rational government – he emphasized.
He admitted that PiS actually found itself “unexpectedly in a certain crisis, which also included attacks on the PiS government by our activists.” – This is a big mistake, not only moral, but also political – he added.
When asked about the scenario of cooperation with Grzegorz Braun's Confederation of the Crown of Poland, the PiS president repeated that he does not allow such a coalition. – This would be a terrible embarrassment to our formation and the entire Polish public life and disorganization of the parliament. This is Self-Defense, but in a cube, he said.
When asked about the next moves after Czarnek was elected as the party's candidate for prime minister, Kaczyński emphasized that Saturday was the beginning of the pre-election campaign. He announced Czarnek's Sunday meeting with, among others, media at the PiS headquarters in Warsaw. As he said, there will be, among others: women-related issues. (PAP)
