The United States announced on Tuesday the closure of three embassies due to the security situation in the Middle East, where the conflict has widened as a result of Iran's retaliation to attacks launched by the US and Israeli military on the Islamic Republic. It is about the diplomatic missions in Lebanon, Kuwait and the one in Saudi Arabia, which was hit by two drones, according to NBC News and Politico.
About 9,000 Americans have left the Middle East since the conflict began, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, on the sidelines of a White House meeting with German Chancellor Marco Rubio, US President Donald Trump dismissed suggestions that Israel had forced his hand to attack Iran, saying Iranian forces were going to attack its neighbors and Israel, and he had made the decision to go to war to prevent that.
Officials with access to US intelligence say Trump has exaggerated the imminence of any threat Iran may pose to the United States, according to The New York Times.
