Fire near the American consulate in Dubai, following drone strikes. Marco Rubio confirmed the attack

A drone attack caused a fire near the US consulate in Dubai on Tuesday, which was brought under control, according to local authorities, as Iran continues its strikes in the Gulf in retaliation for US and Israeli attacks, reports AFP.

The attack was confirmed by the US Secretary of State, writes Agerpres, which quotes AFP: Marco Rubio said she was hit “an adjacent parking lot” the building. “All staff are safe”Rubio told reporters.

Witnesses told AFP they heard a loud explosion, while one said he saw the fire. According to a journalist from the France Presse agency on the spot, the police established a security perimeter in the area.

Earlier, military jets were heard flying over Dubai, considered the commercial center of the Middle East.

“The fire caused by an incident involving a drone near the US consulate has been successfully extinguished,” he indicated, on platform X, the press office of the emirate of Dubai.

“Rescue teams intervened immediately. No injuries were reportedi”, according to the source.

The attack followed another on Tuesday morning against the US embassy in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, where two drones started a small fire.

The US embassy in Kuwait City was hit by drones on Monday, three diplomatic sources told AFP. An AFP correspondent saw smoke coming from the building.
