Representatives of the US administration, James Trainor and Dragoș eyebrow, said that Romania was not removed from the Visa Waiver program, but that the process entered a re-evaluation stage due to concerns about illegal immigration.

In an interview broadcast on A1, James Trainor, an official American on a visit to Romania, offered clarification on the status of the country within the Visa Waiver program. He stressed that Romania was not excluded from the program, but that the process is currently in a re-evaluation phase, in the context of the new priorities of the Trump administration related to immigration.

Regarding the elections in Romania, the American official welcomed the resumption of the electoral process after the November problems, indicating that foreign influences have been identified that affected the correctness of the vote.
