NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte assured on Monday that there are no plans for the alliance to join the US and Israel's war against Iran. He also encouraged NATO countries to help the US in the logistics field.

“There are absolutely no plans for NATO to be involved or be part of (the war) except that individual allies are doing what they can to support what the Americans are doing together with Israel,” Rutte said in an interview with German public television ARD.
– This is Iran, this is the Persian Gulf, it is outside the NATO area – he explained, referring to the scope of the Alliance's defense.
He also assessed that US military actions with Israel are “extremely important” because they “destroy and limit Iran's ability to obtain nuclear potential and ballistic missile capabilities.”
He called on NATO countries: – Wherever we can help, we must help. He added that allies can support the military activities of the US and Israel without directly participating in military operations, e.g. through logistical assistance.
On Saturday morning, Israel and the US launched airstrikes against targets in Iran. Tehran responded by attacking Israel and American bases in several countries in the region.
