Andriy Yermak resigns. Volodymyr Zelensky: I don't want any rumors


The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, said on Friday that the head of his office, Andriy Yermakwhose name is mentioned during the investigation into the corruption scandal (in the last hours the services searched his house), he resigned.
“I don't want any rumors and speculations” – announced Volodymyr Zelensky, quoted by the British daily “The Guardian”.

In a speech published on the Telegram channel The president of Ukraine announced a plan to “restart” his office.
“I am grateful to Andrij for always presenting Ukraine's position in the negotiations exactly as it should be. It has always been a patriotic position. But I don't want there to be rumors and speculations,” he said.
He added that on Saturday will hold “consultations” on who could take over as head of the chancellery.

The Guardian writes that Yermak's resignation, just hours after his home was searched by anti-corruption agencies, is an apparent attempt to quickly end a controversy that has come at perhaps the worst possible time for Ukraine, which is struggling with growing pressure from both allies and foes, especially from the increasingly impatient Donald Trump administration in the United States.
Andriy Yermak – the second person in Ukraine
Andriy Yermak was the chief of staff of the President of Ukraine and a person widely considered the second most powerful person in the country.
Andriy Yermak is former entertainment lawyer and film producer. He became a close confidant of Volodymyr Zelensky during his media career and joined his political team in 2019.
The British daily notes that since Russia's full invasion in 2022, Yermak has become a central figure in Ukraine's war leadership. He oversaw foreign policy and coordinated high-level intelligence and diplomacy, including prisoner exchanges and peace negotiations.
