Grupa Azoty decided to temporarily suspend accepting new orders for nitrogen fertilizers. The decision is a reaction to the sharp increase in gas prices, said Grzegorz Kulik, the company's spokesman, in an interview with PAP Biznes.
— We confirm that due to the sharp increase in gas prices, a decision was made to temporarily suspend new orders for nitrogen fertilizers. We are already processing accepted orders. We are constantly analyzing the situation, said Grzegorz Kulik.
In recent days, oil prices have increased by over 5 percent, and at times even 12 percent increases were recorded. At the same time, European natural gas futures prices increased by over 40%.
Analysts point out that the situation on the raw materials market may remain unstable. Much depends on the development of the situation in the Middle East, as well as on Iran's possible actions towards the energy infrastructure in the Persian Gulf region.
