The new president of UKE. He is to supervise electronic communication in Poland


Prime Minister Donald Tusk submitted a formal application for the appointment of Przemysław Kuna as the President of the Office of Electronic Communications (UKE). This information was provided in an official letter addressed to the Sejm.
Przemysław Kuna is a graduate of the Lublin University of Technology and the Warsaw University of Technology, where he won the title of Master of Telecommunications Engineer. He supplemented his education with doctoral studies at the College of Management and Finance of the Warsaw School of Economics.

In the past, Przemysław Kuna was the Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of the Interior.
His experience also includes work in the management boards of companies belonging to the Telnap Telecom and N3NET Group, which testifies to his deep commitment in the telecommunications sector.

Currently, Przemysław Kuna is the deputy director in the scientific and academic computer network (NASK), the National Research Institute. Its key task is to maintain and develop the nationwide educational network, which is part of the strategic goals of the digitization of the Polish education system.
UKE – What does this institution do?
UKE, i.e. the Office of Electronic Communication, is a state institution in Poland responsible for regulating the telecommunications and postal market. It makes sure that the operators act in accordance with the law, and the competition was honest and favored the development of the market.
The Office of Electronic Communications also deals with allocating radio frequencies, telephone numbering and the quality of telecommunications services. An important task of UKE is also to protect the interests of consumers, e.g. through interventions in the case of disputes with operators.
