Other unconfirmed images also showed thick smoke rising from the embassy compound, raising fears of an expansion of the conflict in the region, according to the freepressjournal.

Also, a US Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jet crashed in western Kuwait. The pilot ejected safely and, according to several sources, suffered minor injuries. Several videos posted online show Kuwaiti civilians assisting the pilot, including transporting him to medical services.

Kuwait's Ministry of Defense announced that its air defense forces had intercepted several “hostile air targets” early Monday, with no one injured. Authorities stressed that the armed forces remain on high alert to protect national security and airspace.

In an official message to the United Nations, Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi accused the United States and Israel of involvement in the alleged “assassination” of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, calling on the Security Council to investigate the situation.
