The conflict in the Middle East hits Rainbow Tours. Stock market declines

From Monday morning Rainbow Tours shares on the Warsaw Stock Exchange record significant declines. Approximately 12, the company's price decreased by 11%, reaching PLN 140 and PLN 0.90, with a turnover of over PLN 40 million.
— This is an operational challenge, but time-limited. Fortunately, this situation concerns the end of the winter season, not its beginning, which significantly reduces the scale of impact on our program – said Szczechura in an interview with PAP Biznes.
Tourists stranded in the Middle East
The conflict in the Middle East is generating difficulties in two key areas of Rainbow Tours' operations. The first is to ensure the return of approximately 700 customers currently in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates. As the president noted, the company is considering various alternatives, but finding solutions takes time, because tens of thousands of travelers from all over the world are in a similar situation.
The second challenge is connecting flights to Asia with Emirates, Qatar Airways and FlyDubai via Dubai. This mainly applies to smaller groups of customers participating in tours to countries such as Japan, Indonesia or India.

Currently, scheduled flights have been suspended, but charters operated by LOT, which do not require transfers in Dubai, remain unthreatened.
Prescription of trips and financial security
Rainbow Tours allows customers to rebook to another tourist event or receive a refund for trips scheduled in the coming days. Szczechura emphasized that the company is preparing for various scenarios, including the search for alternative air routes by airlines such as Turkish Airlines, Air France and Lufthansa.
– This is the end of the winter season, and in April we are entering the summer season, which is already characterized by a very good level of sales – better than last year – added the president.

When asked about the impact of the escalation of the conflict on popular destinations such as Türkiye or Egypt, Szczechura expressed his belief that as long as the situation in these countries remains stable, a decline in interest in traveling should not be expected. Polish tourists, as he noted, are resistant to global turmoil when it comes to travel.
