At 38, Lionel Messi scored two goals in Inter Miami's 4-2 away win over Orlando City in the US-Canada Major League Soccer regular season.

This was also the first win for Messi and company in the new season, after suffering a 1-2 defeat in the previous round against LAFC, a team for which two other former stars of European football, Heung-Min Son and Hugo Lloris, play.

Leo Messi, protagonist in a sensational comeback in MLS

Along with Messi, in the first eleven, Javier Mascherano also sent Rodrigo de Paul, and the former footballer of Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona was not used as the top of the attack, but in his place, at the top, German Berterame was distributed alone. Luis Suárez was not in the squad for the match as he recovers from a foot injury.

The match started as it couldn't have been worse for Inter Miami. Orlando City scored for the first time in the 18th minute through Pasalic, and until halftime Ojeda doubled the guests' advantage. Although Inter Miami controlled the first act, Orlando City had an enviable efficiency: two shots on goal, two goals.

In the second half, Inter Miami's comeback began. Silvetti, entered at half-time, scored after only 3 minutes of introduction on the field with a shot from a long distance. Messi's first goal came in the 57th minute: the Argentine shot from the edge of the box with his left foot directly into the net. Inter Miami returned the score to 85 with Segovia's goal. In the 88th minute Orlando City remained within 10 after the elimination of Guske, and just two minutes later Lionel Messi made the “double”.

Inter Miami is in 7th place in the MLS Eastern Conference after only two rounds played in the new season. Messi's team's conference is currently led by the New York Red Bulls, the only team to have two wins from two games.
