President Donald Trump will talk about the war against Iran in a press statement that will take place at 11:00 a.m. ET (6:00 p.m. in Romania), the White House announced Monday, cited by CNN.
It is Donald Trump's first appearance in front of the media since launching, alongside Israel, the operation against Iran that led to the killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on Saturday.
His previous speeches on the war came via pre-recorded videos broadcast on Truth Social.
What Trump said about the war in the early days
The walkout comes in the third day of US and Israeli action against Iran. Donald Trump on Sunday vowed to “avenge” the previously announced deaths of three US servicemen in the conflict with Iran, and said there would “probably” be other losses for the United States,
On Sunday, Trump described the war as a “four-week” operation in Iran and announced the death of “48 Iranian leaders” and warned again that further American casualties were possible after three US servicemen were killed.
He also said he was ready to “discuss” with Iranian leaders, but without specifying who they were.
“It's always been a four-week process, so – as powerful as Iran is, the country is big – it will take four weeks or less,” the US president said in a telephone interview with the British newspaper Daily Mail from his residence in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, where he has been since Friday evening.
“It's moving fast. No one can believe we've done it. 48 leaders have been taken out in one fell swoop,” the US president congratulated himself, according to a Fox News reporter who spoke to him on the phone and transcribed his remarks on her X account.
