French President Emmanuel Macron was declared on Monday “to take responsibility” in the case of a new failure of the discussions, giving the resignation prime minister Lecornu a 48-hour term for “the latest negotiations”, informs France Presse, citing sources from the French president's entourage.

Through this message, the head of state, who has always excluded the option of a resignation so far, seems to make the threat of a new dissolution of the National Assembly, after the 2024, comments AFP.

“I will tell the head of state on Wednesday night whether it is possible or not so that he can draw all the necessary conclusions,” reacted on the X Sebastien Lecornu.

Former French Minister of Economy Bruno Le Maere, whose nomination in the management of the Ministry of Defense hastened the resignation of Prime Minister Sebastien Lecorn, announced on Monday that he is giving up to participate in the Government to “allow the negotiations to be resumed”

“I proposed during the morning of the President of the Republic to withdraw from the Government and to transfer my responsibilities as the Minister of Defense of the Prime Minister” resigned, said Leire, saying that “he wants this decision to allow the discussions to form a new government that France needs.”

His appointment on Sunday aroused the indignation of the right -wing party (Les Republicins / LR), which sees in Bruno Le Maere a symbol of the budget skid of the last years of the Macronist government and which has consequently challenged its participation in the Government, reports Agerpres.

In less than 14 hours after the announcement regarding the composition of the government, immediately criticized and threatened with implosion, Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu presented his resignation to President Emmanuel Macron on Monday morning.

On Monday afternoon, the head of state finally asked Lecornu to undertake “until Wednesday evening the last negotiations”, according to the presidency.

Macron set it as an objective “to define an action and stability platform for the country”, a few hours only after the announcement of Lecornu's resignation during the morning.

The far right party RN reacted to the announcement of the resignation of Prime Minister Lecornu: “(President) Macron must now choose: Dissolve the Parliament or resign, and this quickly!”.
