The 76th edition of the Italian Music Festival ended on Sunday night with the victory of Sal Da Vinci.

“I want to dedicate this award to my family, who have helped me so much, and to my city, Naples,” said the visibly moved winner.

The Neapolitan won with the song “Per semper si”.

Aged 56, Sal da Vinci is the son of Mario Da Vinci and a Neapolitan music singer. The two have also performed in shows together. Sal Da Vinci also participated in Sanremo in 2009 when he finished third.

Da Vinci was able to achieve international success thanks to the song Rossetto e caffè.

This year's edition was the last one presented by Carlo Conti. Next year, the Sanremo Festival, which is also broadcast in Romania, will be led by Rai 1 stars Stefano De Martino and Antonella Clerici.
